 DAY CLASSES
 

These short, single day classes are perfect for children who have an investigative mind! They include a trip to the Zoo with guided learning activities including games, crafts, and animal encounters.

Cost: $20 for the general public or $17 for Zoo Society Members. We are now offering online registration.

Fantastic Flyers
Tuesday, June 24 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

 
DESCRIPTION
Learn about the fascinating world of birds from the ones who know it best – the birds at the Pocatello Zoo! Our owl friends Mhera and Goliath will take us through what it’s like to be a bird at night, and Vaklyrie, the Bald Eagle, will teach us what it means to be the biggest bird in the roost.

Clever Carnivores
Wednesday, July 23 from 9 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

 

DESCRIPTION

Mom always says to eat your fruits and vegetables… but what if you’re a cougar!? Learn how our carnivores live and what makes them different than other creatures in the animal kingdom. Take a look at what makes a food chain and where the clever carnivores fit in!

Hooves and Horns

DESCRIPTION

Elk and bison and deer, oh my! Stampede through the Zoo to learn about our hooved friends. How do they walk on their finger nails? Where do horns come from and what makes them different than antlers?

Animal Enrichment
Thursday, July 24 from 9 a.m. 12 p.m.

 

DESCRIPTION

Children who like to design, build or create will enjoy this camp. Zoo campers will learn about the importance of engaging and enriching zoo animals. Children will also collaborate with zookeepers to learn about this interesting aspect of their job!

Ecology College
Monday, August 11 from 1 p.m. 4 p.m.

 

DESCRIPTION

Come to the Zoo to earn your “eco-degree” at our Ecology College day class. This class will teach participants about local ecology and how to conserve our natural resources. What better place to study science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) topics than at the Zoo!
